HEALTH SOCIAL LIBRARIAN
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Health
social librarian collects and organizes medical information. They also help practitioner
find the information they need for a patient or research. They organize the
information into collections and develop catalogs for access and provide assistance
to patrons. One other thing that they do is supervise library technicians.
AVERAGE SALARY:
$20,000-$30,000 (library technicians)
$35,000-$55,000
(librarians)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
You
should take challenging high school courses in information management, science,
math, and English. Most of them provide on the job training, but prefer that
students complete library technician programs at a community college. The librarians
should earn an undergraduate degree in one of the life sciences and must earn a
master’s degree in library science from a program that is accredited by American
library Association.
